Dolores River National Monument

The Dolores River begins high in the San Juan Mountains of Southwest Colorado and flows 230 miles until it joins the Colorado River in Utah’s red rock desert near Moab. The Dolores River provides world-class recreation opportunities including boating, hiking, and biking, and sustains outdoor recreation businesses across Colorado and Utah. It’s also home to spectacular cultural sites and critical wildlife habitats, which is all under threat from development. The Dolores River Canyon Country National Monument would protect thousands of undeveloped acres in Western Colorado. We are joining local efforts to call on the Biden Administration to designate a National Monument that would protect this critical landscape.
